How to Register

 

To register for classes for our upcoming sessions,
you can either:

  • Call us at 718-886-5240

or

In order for a student to be admitted to Global ESL Academy, the following criteria are necessary:

  • The student must be a non-native speaker of English
  • The student must be able to read and write in his/her native language
  • The student must be at least 16 years of age

For International Students on F-1 Student Visas

  • The student must be 18 years of age or have a high school diploma
  • The student must demonstrate financial support and provide all required documents to obtain an I-20 form and F-1 visa

In addition, all students must fill out a Global ESL Academy application form and submit it either in person or electronically. Note: F-1 students have additional admissions requirements.

 

After you decide to study at Global ESL Academy, please follow the steps below to register and enroll for classes.

For students currently in F-1 status or those wishing to apply for an F-1 (student) visa, this information can be found on the F-1 Visa pages of this website.

For students already in NYC or for students who do not require a student visa:

  Step 1: You may choose to either register on-line first, or you may call 718-886-5240 to make an appointment for a placement test
  Step 2: Pay a $60 placement test fee on-line or in person
  Step 3: Fill out a Global ESL Academy application form and take the placement test (approximately 2.5 hours in length)
  Step 4: Register in person or on-line if you have not already done so
  Step 5: Sign an enrollment form
  Step 6: Buy books
  Step 7: Receive class schedule
  Step 8: Receive student handbook
  Step 9:  Begin classes at Global ESL Academy
  Step 10: Attend New Student Orientation
